Care

The Ode Tree pieces are delicate in feel but resilient in spirit. Because of the hand-run Kantha stitching, we want to avoid anything that "tugs" at the threads.

The Wash: Cold, gentle machine wash using a mild, eco-friendly liquid detergent.

The "No-No's": Do not bleach, soak, or use harsh powder detergents which can strip the hand-screened botanical dyes.

The Dry: Line dry in the shade. Avoid the tumble dryer—high heat can shrink the cotton fill and stress the Kantha threads.

The Iron: If you love a crisp look, use a warm iron. However, the beauty of Kantha is its natural "crinkle"—we recommend embracing the texture!

Dabu Velvet, cotton velvet is a luxury fiber that gets softer with age, but it requires a bit of "Velvet Etiquette."

The Wash: Cold, gentle machine wash. Wash separately for the first cycle, as the natural Dabu (mud) dyes may release a small amount of excess pigment.

The Detergent: Use a delicate silk/wool liquid wash to keep the velvet pile soft.

The Dry: Lay flat to dry in the shade or drape over a wide rail. Never tumble dry.

The Velvet "Fluff": Once dry, give the quilt a good shake to "wake up" the velvet pile. If the pile looks flat, a quick handheld steam will make it bloom again.

The Iron: Never iron the velvet side directly! If needed, iron the printed cotton reverse on a cool setting.

Pro-Tip: Cotton velvet is breathable, unlike polyester velvet. If you spill something, blot (don't rub) immediately with a damp cloth.
