Each year, Lets Earth honours the place our craft comes from. Jaipore Blush is the first of these.

A love letter to the Pink City, its artisans, and a centuries-old printing tradition.

A love letter to the Pink City...

  • In Jaipur, in January

    Every January, we return to Jaipur to begin the year's work. In 2026, we sat with our master screen printer on a rooftop in the old city and decided this year we would make something different, something that didn't just reference the Pink City, but remembered it. The buta motif you see on the Jaipore Blush reverse has lived in the palaces, textiles, and bridal trousseaus of Jaipur for nearly four hundred years.

  • Before it became a quilt

    Before Jaipore Blush existed as fabric, it existed as instinct. Velvet swatches, printed samples, a wooden floral carved block, dried marigold, natural dye powder, all gathered and laid out until the collection began to make sense. This is how every Lets Earth piece begins. Not with a brief. With objects.

  • Sandstone, Rose and Oatmeal

    Dusty rose from the city's sandstone walls at sunset. Oatmeal from the aged palace facades that carry the buta motif. Olive green from the motif's own botanical stems, drawn directly from Rajput and Mughal fusion palace wall carvings. We didn't interpret the Pink City's palette. We took it as it is.

By hand, in Jaipur

  • Sun Dried Velvets

    The cotton velvet is dyed in our own Jaipur workshop, then hung over bamboo racks to dry in the Rajasthan sun for two days. The heat locks in the dusty rose tone. Natural dye, natural process, the same way it has always been done.

  • Blending the Blush

    The pink-madder dye for the Jaipore Blush print is mixed by hand before each print run. Calibrated by the printer's eye and experience, not a formula. No two batches are quite identical, and that slight variation is part of what makes each piece singular.

  • Printed in Sanganer

    Each Jaipore Blush reverse is hand-screen-printed in Sanganer, twenty kilometres south of Jaipur, where this craft has been practised continuously since the seventeenth century. The buta motif takes three separate screen impressions to complete. The printers work with four wooden screens, on long tables, the fabric stretched flat, one length of cotton at a time.
