Jaipore Blush LUXE QUEEN - Cotton Velvet Quilt Reverse Mughal Floral Motif

We travelled to Jaipur in January to begin our 26/27 collection. Once a year, we want to make something that doesn't just translate the city — it remembers it. The Jaipore Blush is that piece for this year.

The motif on the reverse face is a stylised botanical bouquet drawn from the Mughal floral tradition that has decorated the palaces, textiles, and bridal trousseaus of the Pink City for four centuries. We commissioned this print specifically for the quilt, working with Sanganer screen printers who have been printing this way since their grandfathers were young. Each impression carries the subtle variation that comes from human hands. No two quilts are identical.

The reverse is our cotton velvet in a dusty rose tone, the same softness we use across the Berry Ode and Ochre Creek range. The two faces are bound together with square hand-quilting and finished on all four edges with the same velvet — a small detail that takes additional time but means the binding never wears thin.

Hand-screen-printed in Sanganer, twenty kilometres south of Jaipur, where this craft has been practised continuously since the seventeenth century. Each piece passes through roughly fourteen pairs of hands — from the cotton dyeing and screen printing of the lining, through the velvet cutting and quilting, to the final binding, finishing and folding for shipment.

Cold gentle machine wash on a delicate cycle. Hang dry in the shade. The natural dyes will soften with washing — this is part of the textile's life and intended. Do not bleach. Iron on the reverse face if needed.
